That is the affirmation of Mr. Joo Itsvan, Deputy Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Affairs of Hungary Foreign Affairs, co-chairman of the Joint Committee on Hungarian-Vietnamese Economic Cooperation at the meeting with Vice Minister Tran Xuan Ha afternoon of 29 May. Attending the meeting were the Hungarian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam, and representatives of relevant departments under the Ministry of Finance.

Welcoming Mr. Joo Istvan and the Hungarian delegation to visit and work with the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam, Deputy Minister Tran Xuan Ha said that this was a good opportunity for the two sides to exchange and share issues of mutual concern.The Deputy Minister also thanked and highly appreciated the Hungarian Government and people for their support of Vietnam in resources to develop the country over the past time.

On the basis of good traditional relations between the two countries, Deputy Secretary of State Joo Itsvan expressed his pleasure at Vietnam's achievements in economic development over the years, as well as two-way import-export turnover between Vietnam and Hungary increased by 8.2% over the same period last year, especially the positive result of the Government of Vietnam to gradually reduce the public debt ratio.

In 2020, the two countries Vietnam - Hungary will celebrate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations, so Deputy Secretary of State Joo Itsvan wished to see the projects in the Agreement on Financial Cooperation Framework previously signed between the two countries be implemented soon, this was a practical result showing achievements in economic cooperation between the two countries.

“With good traditional relations, especially currently, Vietnam is Hungary's strategic partner and priority partner, so the Hungarian Government will devote resources to support Vietnam in socio-economic development. ". Deputy Secretary of State Joo Istvan emphasized.

Deputy Minister Tran Xuan Ha thanked and appreciated the Hungarian Government and people for supporting Vietnam on resources to develop the country.

Regarding the Framework Agreement between the two countries, Deputy Minister Tran Xuan Ha told that the framework agreement valued at EUR 440 million was signed on January 12, 2017 in an attempt to finance projects in priority areas such as health, environmental protection, response to climate change, water supply and drainage, public administration, infrastructure in the fields of agriculture, education, vocational training ... Among which 5 projects Project with a total value of more than EUR 150 million have been approved by the Government. With its responsibility, the Ministry of Finance would urge localities to urgently implement necessary procedures for the Ministry of Finance to develop a plan to negotiate and sign specific loan agreements in the earliest time.

The Deputy Minister also suggested that the two sides should carefully review the contents of the Framework Agreement to implement it in the most effective way.

Overview of the meeting

The Deputy Secretary of State thanked the Deputy Minister Tran Xuan Ha for sharing overall information on the situation of project preparation as well as the use of Hungary's binding credit capital. In particular, Mr. Joo Istvan acknowledged and appreciated the support of the Ministry of Finance in the process of implementing the Can Tho Oncology Hospital project. Mr. Joo Istvan affirmed that Hungary had the sufficieint capacity and qualifications as well as experience to successfully implement similar projects in the health field. 

"The Hungarian Prime Minister has asked businesses and contractors to implement a project to build a hospital in Vietnam with the quality and modern technology like hospitals in Hungary." Mr. Joo Istvan said.

And for the Framework Agreement between the two countries to be successfully implemented, Mr. Joo Itsvan looked forward to the attention of Finance Ministry and support to Hungarian projects.

 At the end of the meeting, Deputy Minister Tran Xuan Ha reinterated that the management and use of loans got involved by various ministries localities, however, the Ministry of Finance will make its best effort to work with the local ministries to implement the projects in the most effective way.
